ABOUT JENKINS HILL SOCIETY
The Society
The idea for the Jenkins Hill Society (JHS) was hatched in 2013 by two former Capitol Hill staffers who wanted to create a unique women's fundraising group in Washington, DC. Their vision for the group was to bring women new to the political world together to support Democratic women in Congress sitting in the most vulnerable seats.
In early 2014, JHS officially launched with a group of dynamic, founding members and phenomenal Democratic Congresswomen, forming the foundation of the group today.

Why is the society named Jenkins Hill? Pierre L’Enfant referred to the site of the future Congress or Capitol Hill as "Jenkins Hill.” Since JHS is dedicated to transforming the face of Capitol Hill, the members think it is a fitting name.
